Electromagnetic interference EMI, is energy that is emitted from electrical or electronic equipment which can cause control and equipment failure. As technology expands so do the sources of EMI. Various industry, government and military regulations and standards govern the control of EMI for electronic devices.

Excelsior offers a wide variety of materials for EMI gaskets that either conduct or insulate energy while at the same time providing a robust seal.

In this Aerospace application Excelsior’s EMI gasket acts as a conductor across the housing and flange. This EMI gasket diminishes the electromagnetic interference from within device while providing shielding from outside sources of EMI.

The gasket is 1” square with 5 holes. It is fabricated from .004 thick tin plated copper with a pressure sensitive adhesive on one side. It requires special handling and packaging to avoid contamination.

Excelsior has developed specialized processes to fabricate this part including the adhesive laminating process. Operating in an AS9100 quality certified facility Excelsior provides a wide variety parts that are applied on Aerospace components and system
